Sand Nickels is moving along nicely. The foundation "bones" of the house are almost complete. Guys are starting to touch the sky and work on the roof.

Most days in the Exumas are bright, sunny and beautiful days. But even on gray cloudy days, the view of the blue water is still stunning. I'm so excited the second floor is coming along. Views for days out those windows.
On our last trip there, this ladder in the picture was nicknamed ladder of death. It looks like an easy climb, but keep in mind we did a lot of digging and there is still a big gap between the physical structure of the house and the ground. This will eventually be filled with concrete and will actual come up to the patio with a small step. But right now it's an open gap to gain entry. For someone who is scared of heights and has a propensity to be very clumsy, this was a challenging and a very careful exercise to get into the house. I made it in and out unscathed. Only in the islands!! |
