RECOMMENDATIONS, & EXPERIENCES
The home is magnificent- kitchen is well equipped, good beds & linens. Right on the beach with beach chairs, kayaks, paddle board. Grocery store 3 minutes away. The island is extremely friendly everywhere you go. Lots of adventure with swimming with the sharks, pigs.
All was awesome! Went to Santana's Tropical Bar got Rum Cake at Bakery. Swam with the pigs, sharks, and saw the iguanas on a private charter with Aquadisiac Adventures. Water taxi to Stocking Island for the Pig Roast! Ate at Shirley's, Splash, Santannas, and Shower Cap Grill = a must at the Fish Fry. Went out on paddle board & kayaks. Had a great time with my 33 year old son. Barbara, Boston & Clint, NYC
Great location, beautiful home with everything you need. Perfect for two couples, highly recommend.
Whoa- this place is wonderful. House overlooks the most beautiful waters I have ever seen. My husband and I have enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of Sand Nickels. Everything is right at your fingertips. Grocery store, a wonderful butcher shop. We enjoyed cooking on the grill and walking the white sands of Exuma. Santana's food was super good-cracked conch was great. We walked across the street to Mom's Bakery- her rum cake is the best and took home some fresh bread that had just come out of the oven.
We had lunch at The New Eddie's Edgewater. The food was delicious and good prices. Plan on being there a couple hours. Well worth the wait. We took a water taxi (boat) over to Stocking Island and enjoyed Chat & Chill-right on the water-lots of boats. Half way through our stay we drove down to Exuma Point, we had a wonderful Sunday Buffet. What a buffet. You gotta try it. They will also run you over to see some swimming pigs. Be careful they can be aggressive over food. I could go on and on but I will stop for now and let you know tomorrow how the sunset is at Catch a Fire. No doubt you can't do everything in one visit so hopefully will be back. Please call some places before you go. Catch a Fire was closed for now-will be reopening under new management per Tony. We ended up at Shirley's in G-town. Fish was great. Yummy! Sure beat Chat n Chill which was baked and a little greasy. Oh well. We have loved it all!
Yes there are turtles down by the dock. Saw them on two different occasions. Last day and gonna miss this beautiful place. Great accommodations. Can't wait to come back. Thanks again. Deborah & Charlie, Louisville, KY
This house has the most amazing views, deck and beach. Really wonderfully clean and comfortable. Only thing to be aware of is that the island grocery stores close by 5 or 6pm and most all stores are closed on Sunday so guests may want to consider buying some supplies before arriving and checking in at the house if they plan to cook dinner or breakfast first day.

Our 10 day stay at Sand Nickels was a pleasure (and we are only sorry it couldn't have been longer). The house is new, very clean and well appointed and located on beautiful Hoopers Bay with an endless expanse of turquoise water. It is the perfect launch point to explore the island with good amenities close by. We enjoyed the house so much that we tended to cook most of our meals at home. There are kayaks for exploring the waters of the bay with many sea turtles swimming about. A wonderful rental experience that exceeded our expectations. Gavin & Hope, Toronto, Canada
I recently stayed at Sand Nickels and wanted to share how perfect everything was. I never take the time to write reviews but because of your wonderful house and the beautiful location my family and I had the best and most relaxing vacation ever. The perfect place to unwind. We can’t wait to visit again next year!

This place is a great piece of paradise! Nicely decorated and furnished! Tranquil, close to George Town and just about anything you need. Sasha was a great host! I would definitely stay here again! It's well worth it!
My husband and I rented Sand Nickels for 9 nights in April, escaping a horrific Minnesota Spring snow storm. We spent the first four nights at the home, just the two of us. On day 5 another couple joined us and the home was wonderful for two people, and also for four. From the moment I reached out to Nichole she was incredible to work with. She was always responsive and thorough in her responses.
Sand Nickels was everything you could wish for you and more – pictures simply cannot do this place true justice. It is situated on a an absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking bay. The home is situated in a way that takes full advantage of this glorious view. The home is airy, beachy and furnished and decorated in a lovely way. You can tell the thought and time that went into not only building this house, but also furnishing it. The artwork and items around the house are beautiful & add to the beachy vibe. There is an upper patio which lends itself to glorious views and a great place for morning coffee or evening wine, watching the sunset to the left. There is also a massive deck below which lends itself to the PERFECT place to kick back with friends and have a drink. The home is outfitted with everything you could possibly need – dishes, pans, cooler, beach chairs, kayak, stand up paddle board, beach towels, games, etc. The beds are SO comfortable and the linens are incredibly nice.
My husband and I have rented many homes across the Caribbean and this one is as good as they get. You may hesitate because Sand Nickels doesn’t have a pool, but honestly, you do not need a pool with the bay that sits directly in front of you. I almost feel like it forces you to spend time on the beach, which is the reason we all go to Exuma in the first place – the Exuma blue water. This bay is calm, crystal clear, NEVER crowded and filled with beautiful sea turtles that you can snorkel with. It’s a lovely walking, swimming, and water sport bay. We ventured to other beaches and did a day trip on a boat which were all terrific, but you could EASILY spend all 10 days on Hooper’s Bay.
If you’re considering booking Sand Nickels, my advice to you would be to do so.
Our first of many visits to come with Sand Nickels and Exuma. This beautiful new home offers breath taking views from the main level and a touch of luxury with the detailed construction. There is nothing better than taking the kayaks out for a morning exercise or catching a swim with the turtles in hoopers bay. We would consider Sand Nickels a prime location on the island, as you are a short drive away from the essentials and centrally located on the island. We have been to a handful of islands in both the Bahamas and Caribbean’s but nothing compares to Exuma. The locals make you feel so welcomed and safe, for a family friendly island. You could literally stay at the home all week but we would recommend one of the boat excursions and trying the conch fritters down at the fish fry shacks. This is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth and we would highly recommend to stay at Sand Nickels. Cory & Sarah
My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at Sand Nickels in Exuma. The location of the house is perfect--close drive to Georgetown, the Fish Fry, & Splash Bar and Grill. We loved the gorgeous view of Hooper's Bay off the deck as well! Sand Nickels has literally everything you could ever need in a vacation rental from beach accessories, chairs, kayaks, and a paddle board, to a very well stocked kitchen for cooking if you choose to make your own meals throughout the week. The decor is adorable and all of the little touches made it feel like home. We will definitely return to Sand Nickels one day and would highly recommend this place if you are looking to visit Exuma!!
Everything was perfect. The house was GORGEOUS. Bed was so comfy (I miss it already!!), perfect location and the hosts have thought of absolutely everything to make sure your stay is as perfect as possible!
